Silver Falls State Forest surrounds Oregon's crown jewel state park, providing forest road access to quiet corners of this waterfall-rich landscape. While the state park itself draws crowds to the famous Trail of Ten Falls, the surrounding forest roads offer peaceful exploration through regenerating forest with access to lesser-known waterfalls and swimming holes. The proximity to Salem and Portland makes it an ideal day trip or weekend destination for beginning overlanders.
