The Rogue River-Siskiyou National Forest encompasses some of the most botanically diverse terrain in the temperate world. Where the Cascade, Klamath, and Siskiyou mountains converge, a unique mix of geological substrates supports plant communities found nowhere else. Old mining roads provide access to this wild landscape, winding through forests of Port Orford cedar, Pacific madrone, and rare serpentine plant communities. The Kalmiopsis Wilderness provides a dramatic backdrop of rugged peaks and deep river canyons.
