Providence Canyon is one of Georgia's most visually striking landscapes, massive canyons up to 150 feet deep carved not by millions of years of water erosion but by fewer than 200 years of poor agricultural practices. The result is an accidental geological wonder, where vivid layers of red, orange, pink, purple, and white clay create a colorful tapestry along the canyon walls. Forest roads surrounding the state park offer easy overlanding with spectacular canyon rim viewpoints.
