    Ocotillo Wells SVRA is California's premier open desert riding destination, offering 85,000 acres of unrestricted off-road access across the Anza-Borrego Desert. Unlike confined trail systems, Ocotillo Wells allows riders to create their own routes through diverse terrain including sand washes, rock gardens, mud hills, and the famous Shell Reef fossil beds. The park's geology tells a story of ancient seas, with marine fossils visible throughout. From the otherworldly Pumpkin Patch concretions to the challenging Devil's Slide, the area offers terrain for every skill level. The vast open spaces and minimal vegetation create an almost lunar landscape that comes alive with wildflowers after winter rains.
