Anza-Borrego Desert State Park encompasses 600,000 acres of the Colorado Desert, offering over 500 miles of dirt roads through some of the most dramatic desert scenery in California. Slot canyons carved through sandstone, palm-lined oases fed by underground springs, and badlands eroded into fantastic shapes provide endless exploration. Font's Point, the 'Grand Canyon of the desert,' offers a dawn panorama that rivals anything in the Southwest. After winter rains, the desert floor erupts in wildflowers so dense they're visible from space. The park's open camping policy means you can pull off any road and set up camp under some of the darkest skies in Southern California.
