Nellis Dunes OHV
Nellis Dunes is a BLM off-highway vehicle area about 20 miles northeast of downtown Las Vegas, at the Apex exit off I-15. It has big sand dunes and trails rated from novice to expert, with views of the Strip. There are no facilities or services, and camping and target shooting are not allowed.

Nellis Dunes Off-Highway Vehicle Recreation Area is BLM land north of Las Vegas built around large sand dunes. Trails run from novice to expert, and the BLM says they draw sandrails, motorcycles and ATVs. Our record rates it Moderate and puts the best season at October to May, when desert heat backs off. Our record calls for 4WD with low range and 31 to 33 inch all-terrain or mild mud-terrain tires. There is no water, fuel or restroom inside the area, so roll in with what you need.
