The Cohutta Wilderness straddles the Georgia-Tennessee border in some of the most remote terrain in the Southeast. While vehicles can't enter the wilderness itself, the forest roads ringing its boundary provide extraordinary overlanding through deep mountain coves, across boulder-strewn creek crossings, and along ridgelines with views into the unbroken forest canopy below. This is as close to true wilderness driving as you'll find east of the Mississippi.
