2025 Program Updates: Trail Tiers Explained

Core Trails

Core Trails are the backbone of the Badge of Honor program. They are permanent fixtures, designed to remain available year after year. When you complete a Core Trail and check in through the app, Jeep mails you a physical badge. These are the classic, iconic routes that define the program.

Limited Trails

Limited Trails are time-sensitive, available for exactly one calendar year (for example, April 2025 through April 2026). They reward explorers who move fast and plan ahead. Like Core Trails, Limited Trails earn you a physical badge when completed within the active window. Once the window closes, the trail and its badge are gone.

Digital Trails

Digital Trails expand the program's reach by offering more routes at more skill levels without awarding physical badges. Instead, you earn digital badges and points within the app. They're a great way to build mileage, earn challenge credit, and explore trails that might not have made the Core list.

The Short Version

Core = permanent, physical badge. Limited = one year only, physical badge. Digital = always available, digital badge only.

Badge of Honor Challenges

In addition to individual trail badges, the 2025 update introduced Challenges, which award points and digital badges for completing specific activities or groups of trails:

  • Digital Detour: Complete any 3 Digital Trails
  • Explorer Extraordinaire: Complete 10 unique trails
  • Marathoner: Complete 26 unique trails
  • Moab Marvel: Complete all Jeep Badge of Honor Trails in Moab, Utah
  • Month Streaker: Complete at least 1 trail per month for 6 consecutive months
  • Trail Titan: Complete every Core Trail in the program

The Trail Titan challenge is the ultimate achievement in the Badge of Honor program. With Core Trails spread across dozens of states, earning this one requires real commitment, real miles, and a well-built rig.
