Windrock Park is the eastern US answer to Moab, offering over 300 miles of trails across 72,000 acres of former coal mining land atop the Cumberland Plateau. The park's trail rating system runs from 1 to 10, with family-friendly forest roads at the low end and vehicle-destroying rock crawling at the high end. Trail 3 is legendary, a technical gauntlet of house-sized boulders, narrow ledges, and off-camber sections that has earned comparison to the Rubicon Trail.
