Last Dollar Road connects Telluride to Ridgway over a 10,663-foot pass, winding through what many consider the finest aspen groves in Colorado. The Sneffels Range provides a jagged granite backdrop to golden-leafed corridors that peak in the last days of September. Unlike most Colorado passes, Last Dollar is accessible to stock high-clearance SUVs, making it one of the most democratic mountain driving experiences in the state. The Ridgway side opens to sprawling ranch land with Mount Sneffels towering above, while the Telluride side descends through dense forest into the famous ski town's box canyon.
