Forest roads east of the Cascade crest climb to alpine ridgelines with sweeping views of the Pacific Northwest's greatest peaks. Wildflower displays in July rival any alpine trail in the region, and the drier eastern Cascades offer more reliable access than the rainy west side.

Cle Elum means 'swift water' in the Kittitas language.
The Teanaway area is one of the best wildflower viewing areas in Washington.
On clear days you can see Mount Rainier, Mount Stuart, and the entire Stuart Range from the ridgeline.
