Cinnamon Pass
Cinnamon Pass is a moderate 25 miles off-road trail near Lake City, CO. It requires a properly built 4x4 with All-terrain tires, 4WD required and is best run July - September. Stock trucks and Jeeps are not recommended; plan on the required modifications before attempting it.

The gentler companion to Engineer Pass, Cinnamon Pass crosses at 12,640 feet through wildflower-carpeted alpine meadows with the ghost town of Animas Forks near the summit. Less technically demanding than Engineer, it remains a spectacular high-altitude experience.
Fun Facts
Cinnamon Pass was used by the Ute people long before European settlement.
Animas Forks near the summit was a thriving mining town of 450 people in the 1880s.
The pass name comes from the cinnamon-colored rock near the summit.
