It requires a properly built 4x4 with 33"+ mud-terrain tires, 4WD with low range, Winch (9,500+ lb) and is best run June - October. Stock trucks and Jeeps are not recommended; plan on the required modifications before attempting it.

Michigan's Upper Peninsula is the Midwest's last true wilderness frontier, with hundreds of miles of remote backcountry trails through dense boreal forest, across iron ore ridgelines, and past hidden waterfalls. The terrain is surprisingly rugged for the region, with deep mud bogs, rocky creek crossings, and forest roads that see more moose than vehicles. This is genuine backcountry overlanding where cell service disappears, gas stations are 50 miles apart, and self-sufficiency isn't optional,it's mandatory.
