Mohican State Forest surrounds the dramatic Clear Fork Gorge, one of Ohio's deepest and most scenic natural features. Forest trails wind along the gorge rim and through surrounding hills covered in towering hemlock, white pine, and hardwood forest. The combination of forest driving and nearby river recreation makes Mohican a complete outdoor destination, while the old-growth forest in the gorge provides a rare glimpse of Ohio's pre-settlement landscape.
