Gila National Forest is one of the most remote and wild places in the American Southwest. Its 3.3 million acres contain the world's first designated wilderness area, ancient cliff dwellings, natural hot springs, and deep river canyons accessible only by rough forest roads. This is true wilderness overlanding where self-sufficiency is not optional, it's survival.
