4x4 and Off-Road Data

Quick Answer

This is where 4x4 Playground publishes its original datasets. Every number is pulled from a primary source, such as an automaker spec sheet or a government agency, and each dataset lists its sources, the date we checked them and a free CSV download. You can use and embed any dataset with credit and a link back.

Our datasets

2026 4x4 Crawl Ratio Dataset

22 factory configurations of the 2026 Wrangler, Gladiator, Ram, Tacoma, 4Runner and Frontier, from 39.9:1 to 100.1:1, worked out from OEM gear ratios.

Updated October 2026. 22 rows.

Coming next (listed only once each one is verified and live):

  • Sierra pass opening and closing history for Tioga, Sonora, Ebbetts and Monitor passes, sourced from NPS and Caltrans
  • Off-road trails by state, difficulty and season
  • Campground to trailhead distances by state
  • Off-road light bar and OHV permit rules by state

How we build these datasets

  • Primary sources only. Automaker spec sheets and press kits, NPS and Caltrans releases, state agency pages. Opened by direct URL, never copied from another site's table.
  • Every row carries its source URL and the date we checked it.
  • We show our math. Where we calculate a figure, like crawl ratio, the inputs are in the CSV so you can check it.
  • When a source changes, we update the dataset and the "Last updated" date. Corrections are noted on the dataset page.

Use our data
