Buffalo Campground sits at 7,400 feet near Buffalo Creek in the Pike National Forest, about an hour southwest of Denver. Sites have accessible tables and fire rings with grills, some are tent only, and there are vault toilets but no hookups and no water, so bring all you need. The Buffalo Creek Recreation Area has a 40 mile trail system, and several trailheads are walkable from camp. The Colorado Trail leads into the Lost Creek Wilderness. Some sites are first come, first served. Be bear aware.
