Ruby Mountains Backcountry explores Nevada's most spectacular mountain range, a glacially carved alpine wonderland that seems transplanted from the European Alps into the high desert. Lamoille Canyon's dramatic walls rise thousands of feet on either side, while backcountry roads access remote passes, alpine lakes, and peaks reaching over 11,000 feet. The contrast between the desert valleys and the alpine peaks is one of the most dramatic landscapes in the American West.
