What to expect
Some sites have lake views and others back up to the woods. The DNR says the sites are generally not flat, so bring leveling blocks.
Campers get their own boat launch inside the campground, and canoe and kayak rentals run Memorial Day through Labor Day or later. The park also has two mini cabins and two camper cabins, and its trails are open to hiking, horseback riding and mountain biking.
Know before you go
- A Recreation Passport is required for vehicle entry.
- The DNR has posted 'Do Not Eat Fish' and 'Avoid Foam' advisories for parts of the Huron River because of PFAS.
- Park office: 248-685-2433. Address: 3500 N. Wixom Road, Commerce Twp.
- Hookups: the DNR lists electric service and a sanitation station, not full hookups at each site.
