# White Mountain Backcountry

**Vehicle requirements:** 4WD with low range, all-terrain or mild mud-terrain tires (31–33"), skid plates recommended. Stock-to-2" lift handles most obstacles.

**Best season:** May - October

Rugged forest roads through the Presidential Range with views of New England's highest peaks. Abandoned logging roads and CCC-era routes climb into some of the Northeast's most dramatic alpine terrain.
