# Snowy Range Backcountry

**Vehicle requirements:** 4WD with low range, all-terrain or mild mud-terrain tires (31–33"), skid plates recommended. Stock-to-2" lift handles most obstacles.

**Best season:** July - September

Forest roads through the Medicine Bow Mountains south of the Wind River Range with alpine lakes, snow-capped peaks, and wildflower meadows. Far less crowded than the Tetons with equally stunning alpine scenery.
